DUFF MCKAGAN Says He Goes 'Road Gay' On Tour
March 27, 2011Duff McKagan (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N' ROSES, DUFF MCKAGAN'S LOADED) tells NME.com that while deprived of the company of his wife on the road he often finds himself mistaking male band members for the female of the species.
"You're away from your wife and whatever, and I don't fuck around — but there are no women on the bus," he explained. "All of a sudden, well, your bass player's got long black hair, he's wearing his little sister's pants, and out of the corner of your eye he looks like a hot chick."
He added: "We call it 'road gay'. We don't actually act on it…"
McKagan's much-anticipated autobiography, "It's So Easy (And Other Lies)", is scheduled to arrive on October 4 via Touchstone Books (formerly Touchstone Fireside),a division of Simon & Schuster.
Duff's VELVET REVOLVER/GUNS N' ROSES bandmate Slash has published his own book, as has ex-GUNS drummer Steven Adler, who released his life story, "My Appetite for Destruction: Sex, and Drugs, and Guns N' Roses", in July 2010.
